Manchester agency Creative Concern is taking to the city's streets alongside a character called Mr Toast to encourage residents to insulate their homes.

The Get Me Toasty Campaign aims to encourage people in Greater Manchester to install cavity wall and loft insulation in their homes to save money and lower the region's carbon footprint.

Creative Concern has devised the campaign on behalf of Greater Manchester's ten authorities and their partner The Energy Saving Trust.

The agency's work includes PR strategy, radio advertising, web design and handling street teams distributing literature.

Star of the campaign Mr Toast was created by American artist Dan Goodsell.

"The Energy Saving Trust loved Mr Toast as a mascot, artist Dan Goodsell loved the idea of being involved in our campaign and so we got to build a giant felt character who traveled round the region to meet councilors and shore up support," said Steve Connor, chief executive of Creative Concern.

“Local authorities and regional media have shown great interest in the campaign, which cuts heating costs for residents by giving them access to grant-funded insulation and helps towards lowering domestic carbon emissions across Greater Manchester. We’re already recording significant take up from residents through the Get Me Toasty website and the dedicated free phone line.”
