STV appoints DRG as worldwide distributor

STV has confirmed today that independent content distributor DRG will exclusively represent STV Productions and Ginger Productions in the international market, with immediate effect.

Both production companies will be promoted internationally under the newly created STV International brand, offering the rights to a 2,000 hour catalogue of programming to broadcasters.

This includes hit shows such as Taggart, STV’s flagship crime drama, and a number of factual programmes including “Walking the Amazon”, produced for Discovery and Channel 5.

The deal also incorporates a co-funding and development partnership which will see the two companies combine to develop new dramas ahead of a broadcast commission.

Alan Clements, Director of Content at STV said of DRG: "As a truly independent distributor they have a proven track record for building UK born programming into global brands.”
