Imperial Tobacco Group’s group sales and marketing director Graham Blashill has announced that he will retire next February following the company’s annual general meeting.

Blashill, who has held a number of positions with Imperial Tobacco over 42 years, including commercial development manager, managing director UK and regional director for Western Europe, took up his current role in 2005.

He will retire on 2 February 2011.

In the meantime, Blashill will continue to work closely with Roberto Funari, group marketing director for the company, with the aim of driving the group’s sustainable growth agenda and further developing its worldwide portfolio.

Iain Napier, chairman of Imperial Tobacco Group, said; "Graham has had a tremendous career at Imperial Tobacco, managing our operations in a number of key markets and helping to develop our brand and product portfolio into the most versatile in the industry. He has also been instrumental in evolving our strategic direction, embedding our enhanced sales focus across the business.

"On behalf of the Board and our employees I would like to thank Graham for his significant contribution to our success and wish him well in his retirement," he added.
