Si Scott exhibition for Forever Manchester

A special exhibition and sale of limited edition posters from iconic illustrator Si Scott is to take place at Manchester Photographic Gallery with proceeds going to local charity Forever Manchester.

The exhibition will run in the Tarif Street Gallery from 1 December for two weeks and comprising a specially commissioned series of 11 posters. Each uses as its focus lyrics from Manchester bands including The Buzzcocks, Elbow, Oasis, The Stone Roses, The Fall, The Doves and Joy Division. The unique typeface used in the pieces has been specially created by Scott for the series.

Si Scott is ranked in the Top 200 Illustrators in the world. He used skills gained from a graphic design degree to develop a characteristic style which combines hand-inked and penned artwork with modern typography. His style has won him a client list, including Vogue, Nike, Polydor, Guinness, MTV, Absolut, Tiffany & Co, Miller and American Express.

Forever Manchester chief executive Nick Massey, commented: “We are really looking forward to the exhibition and are delighted that Si decided to support us in this extremely generous way. Si’s work is outstanding, and the Manchester edge given to this series is sure to make them very popular with music lovers, art lovers and people who love Manchester.”

Prices will start from £100. Proceeds from sales will be donated to Forever Manchester.
