In her first day on Facebook, The Queen's official page has attracted almost 150,000 users to view the site of The British Monarchy.

The site, featuring pictures of the Royal Family, as well as those who received honours from The Queen and a news update section and videos of occasions and places owned by the monarchy, currently has around 147,000 people who have clicked it’s ‘like’ button.

The page also allows people to comment on the site, inciting some anti-royalists to voice their opinions too, although the site is being monitored staff at Buckingham Palace.

The British Monarchy launched its first official website in 1997, followed by a YouTube channel in 2007 and a Twitter account in 2009.
