Digital agency twentysix has designed and built the website for the Leeds International Film Festival, which started today.

The site acts as an interactive guide to the festival, featuring news on screenings and programmes and star ratings for each of the films on show.

Visitors can add their own reviews and create a festival itinerary to plan which films they want to see.

"The number of films the festival features means it can be very difficult for people to choose what they want to see and when. The website is exactly the tool they need," said Martin Grund, the festival's creative coordinator.

Gail Duddleston, CEO of twentysix, said the site is designed to "add value to film fans' experiences of the festival" and "encourage increased participation".

She said: "The functions we’ve introduced, such as the peer review option, means fans can make informed choices based on their peers’ opinions, enabling them to tailor their own festival experience.

"The site’s links to social media also mean festival fans will be better connected."

The 24th Leeds International Film Festival runs until 21 November.
