Debenhams is to launch an Irish online department store and will offer a limited free-delivery offer for the first three weeks of operations.

The Debenhams.ie site will include the retailers designers brands across homeswares, womenswear, lingerie, menswear and childrenswear, with free delivery being made available until 21 November, which will rise to a €5 delivery charge on any purchase.

Stock purchased online can also be returned in store, while each shopper will have their own online account.

Chris Paton, sales director for Ireland for Debenhams, commented: “Thousands of products are now available to thousands of new customers throughout Ireland. We know Ireland is leading the way when it comes to dot com and our ROI move further underlines our love of online. We are excited about bringing our unique designer mix to more people in Ireland than ever before”.

Debenhams has also recently launched its own Debenham’s interactive TV channel, offering behind-the-scenes footage and interviews from photo shoots and fashion shows.
