Cameron criticised for hiring personal photographer
David Cameron has faced criticism at Prime Minister's Questions for putting his personal photographer on the Government payroll.
Labour leader Ed Milliband challenged the PM over his appointment of photographer Andy Parsons, a former Conservative Party employee who has now been given a Civil Service role.
Milliband questioned the wisdom of the appointment at a time when Cameron was "telling everyone to tighten their belts".
And he seized on the opportunity to bring up Cameron's allegedly airbrushed posters from the election campaign.
Milliband said: "I can't believe he is talking about hard choices this week because who has he chosen to put on the civil service payroll this week? His own personal photographer.
"There's good news for the Prime Minister - apparently he does a nice line in airbrushing."
Cameron did not directly respond to the barbs about Parsons' hiring, but instead said his government had made in-house cuts from the Labour administration.
He said: "The last government last year spent half a billion pounds on communications.
"We are cutting that by two-thirds, that's what's actually happening."
