Erskine, Scotland’s care facility for veterans has launched a new TV advertising campaign ahead of this year’s Remembrance Day.

The campaign is based on a war poem which highlights the fight that Veterans had to bring freedom to their country, and the physical and mental scars they carry from doing so.

The creative includes a young amputee soldier, Corporal Paul Finlay, alongside Erskine Veteran, Alec Heron and was produced by STV producer, David Tennent.

Running on STV over a three-week period, the ad highlights that Erskine needs to raise over £140,000 a week through donations and asks viewers to donate by calling its free phone number.

Press and online ads have also been developed by the in-house marketing team to complement the TV campaign, using the line ‘We fought through hell and fire to bring freedom to you.’

Sarah McNaught, marketing manager for Erskine said that Remembrance was becoming a more competitive period for charities.

“ We have, therefore, introduced a new campaign to heighten awareness levels; educate and inform the public that Erskine cares for veterans of all ages, offering the highest standard of care, as well as employment and accommodation opportunities, and to encourage people to give to the charity,” explained McNaught.
