A cyclist from Dunvegan, Skye, is celebrating reaching the big time after pedalling his way to 20 million hits on YouTube.

Danny MacAskill became an internet sensation after posting a five minute clip of himself cycling up trees, riding along railings and jumping off roofs.

These antics subsequently caught the attention of energy drinks firm Red Bull, who commissioned MacAskill to film himself pulling a range of two wheeled stunts with the island providing a suitably rugged backdrop.

Commenting on his success MacAskill said: “My life has changed quite a bit since that video. It blew up to something more than you could imagine.”

The film, titled Way Back Home, took three months to shoot and is to be released next month. In the meantime a trailer has been posted at www.redbull.co.uk.
