Hft, the national disabilities charity has appointed JBP to deliver a PR campaign to promote its 50th anniversary.

The Bristol PR agency picked up the brief following a five-way-pitch earlier this month, with the contract set to begin from Autumn 2010 until mid-2012, with agencies asked to submit ideas to raise Hft’s profile as an innovator in its field, with an emphasis in promoting its cutting edge work with assistive technology, while also acknowledging the contributions made by staff and families over its history.

Hft supports 1,000 people with learning disabilities and 4,000 families across the UK, offering residential care, supported living, support to get a job, how to develop relationships and other life skills.

Lis Anderson, director at JBP said: “Our campaign is designed to celebrate Hft’s heritage and achievements to-date and at the same time look to the future and really bring to life the pivotal role Hft continues to play in the ever-changing social care sector. This approach will give us a platform to reinforce Hft’s position as the forward-thinking, innovative, creative charity that it is.

“The campaign will target a range of audiences from people with a learning disability and their families to local authority commissioners and politicians.”
