Paul Newman, Nicky Unsworth and Sandra Tinker are among the high profile Manchester media figures lending their backing to the new-look MPA by joining its advisory board.

The creative, digital, film and media organisation, known as the Manchester Publicity Association before its 'rebirth' in July, has formed the board to "propel the organisation forward".

It comprises:

MediaCityUK managing director, Paul Newman; MD of BJL, Nicky Unsworth; Marcie Incarico of Out There Events; Emma Slater, deputy MD at MEC; the White Room’s Andy Lovatt; Paul O’Halloran, commercial director at the MEN; Sandra Tinker of News International; deputy CEO of Pro Manchester, Rachel Smith; Nick Melvin, managing director of Delineo; Tony Foggett, MD of Code Computerlove and Enda Carey of Vision and Media.

This group will meet at regular points throughout the year and will provide strategic advice to the MPA so it can meet its aim of "uniting Manchester’s creative sector, giving its community a strong, global voice".

The all-new MPA will officially launch tomorrow evening at an event in Manchester. MediaCity's Paul Newman and Ogilvy Group vice president Rory Sutherland will be guest speakers and the MPA's new branding will be unveiled.

Cindy Simmons (pictured), managing director of the MPA, said: “We are delighted to have such talented, well respected individuals on board and enormously grateful for the time they will be devoting to the development and future success of the organisation in months to come.

“The MPA has undergone a total rebrand, which will be unveiled on Tuesday evening. We are all looking forward to revealing the new guise, which we are immensely proud of – Delineo, MC2, BJL and Live Link New Media have done a fantastic job.

“The MPA is refreshed, reinvigorated and ready to fulfill its aim of supporting individuals working in the sector, and cementing Manchester’s position on the global map as one of the premier creative centres worldwide. A new, more inclusive, more vocal and more dynamic MPA is about to emerge.”
