Philips is demoing its products in a new online comedy series called 'Nigel and Victoria' running on YouTube.

The eight-part series launches today and follows the relationship between Philips' meddling marketing director Nigel, played by 'The Thick of It' actor Ben Willbond, and sexy product reviewer Victoria, played by Dutch actress Victoria Koblenko.

The branded three and half minute films have been shot in a mockumentary style and show Nigel annoying Victoria by interfering with her product demos.

The series has been created to preview lifestyle products including iPad accessories, a solar rechargeable power pack and headphones.

Philips will add new episodes to its website and YouTube each week and it has also set up Facebook and Twitter pages. The films were made by Wenneker TV and comedy production company Hoot.

Gary Raucher, vice-president and head of integrated communications at Philips Consumer Lifestyle, said: "Today’s online-savvy consumers expect a brand to do more than simply push its products. Consumers want brands to engage with them in an open and credible way.

"They also want brands to make entertaining content that they can discover for themselves and share online. ‘Nigel and Victoria’ is a great example of this and we hope the public embraces the show."
