The BBC has reacted furiously to unseen clips of its hit documentary The Scheme being posted on YouTube, after the broadcaster was forced to postpone its final episodes due to one of the shows 'stars' facing court proceedings.

The broadcaster has demanded that the clips be removed after the previously unseen episode three and part of episode four were leaked online.

BBC's principal solicitor has warned that people found circulating the unseen episodes could face legal action.

The controversial show was widely praised for its gritty portrayal of the Onthank housing scheme in Kilmarnock, Ayrshire. However, the series had to be pulled after just two episodes when a teenager, due to feature in the show, was arrested for assault.

The case against Steven McMurray, 17, finished in July, after he was found guilty of assaulting a bus passenger in Kilmarnock. However, another featured person faced court proceedings the day before the final episodes were rescheduled to show and they had to cancel plans yet again.
