To promote the new series of The Gadget Show, which was broadcast last night on Channel Five, Hidden Creative devised an augmented reality advert featuring presenter Suzi Perry.

The Manchester creative agency created the outdoor ad, which would test the effectiveness of outdoor advertising methods against bleeding edge technologies.

The challenge presented on the programme saw Piccadilly Gardens Bus Station transformed into a mobile studio for the show, including Bluetooth downloads, digital gaming and augmented reality posters.

Postcards were also handed out to shoppers and commuters which would create a virtual 3D Suzi Perry when place in front of the interactive bus shelter.

There were also 3D posters, a gaming and giveaway zone with an interactive pairs and jigsaw game on touch screens. Bus shelter posters dispensed Gadget Show mints and included peel-off branded mouse mats which could be taken away.

Suzi Perry explained: “I wanted to create an advertising campaign with which people could interact but being a Gadget Show challenge, it had to be 'techy' as well. Working with JCDecaux, Total Immersion and Hidden made that become a reality and I’m really excited about the results."

The augmented reality market to create a ‘virtual Suzi’ can be downloaded on the Channel Five website.
