Neither gammon and chicken ice cream nor a crunchy dog biscuit mix is likely to threaten Raspberry Ripple or Mint Choc Chip in the nation’s summer treat affections but for one enterprising ice cream van at least, that’s not the issue.

The world’s first ice cream van for dogs is to make its first appearance in London’s Regents Park this Saturday offering cool treats for four legged walkers.

The van, dubbed K99, will roll into the park to the strains of the Scooby Doo theme tune, prior to offloading the unlikely flavour combos for hot under the collar patrons.

For a donation of 99p to Berkshire Search & Rescue Dogs the two ices, “dog eat hog world” and “canine cookie crunch” are sure to be lapped up.
