Heating products manufacturer Baxi Group has appointed Midlands agency Connect to raise awareness of its use of low carbon technologies among specifiers.

Like all energy companies Baxi has to be mindful of its green reputation and it has briefed Connect to develop a marketing strategy and communications plan to promote its future low carbon products and initiatives.

Antony Green, Connect's client services director, said: "We have worked with Baxi since January 2010 developing a new approach and materials to support its specification channel.

"This latest pitch win, to handle its low carbon technologies work is fantastic news for the agency as we gear up for further recruitment in the coming months."

Connect claims it has added 20 staff to its team this year alone after on the back of business wins including securing a new European role with Bentley Motors.

The agency's PR team has increased its work with Volkswagen UK by adding Volkswagen Commercial Vehicles to its passenger car work along with new briefs from Uponor and Bauer Media.

It now plans further staff recruitment and is "actively seeking" senior creatives.

"We know we have the right strategy in place to grow the business even further and we're looking for like minded senior people to take us to the next stage in our development," said Green.
