Funding for the Government health campaign Change4Life is reported to be set to be withdrawn.

Talking to public sector doctors in London, Health Secretary Andrew Lansley has said that funding for the campaign could be withdrawn as he wanted to see businesses take more responsibility of it and said that a new strategy would be put in place by the end of the year.

The campaign launched in January last year with the task of changing attitudes towards exercise and health. Spin off brands such as Bike4Life and Walk4Life also appeared.

The Government is currently in the process of heavily cutting marketing budgets from within the public sector and has placed a freeze on all ‘unnecessary; marketing spend for the time being.
