First fortnight sees Creative Break creates 50 apprenticeship places

Public sector partnership programme, Creative Break, which aims to find apprentice vacancies within Greater Manchester’s creative sector, has created fifty potential jobs within its first fortnight.

Having launched on 14 June, the scheme which is funded primarily by the North West Apprenticeship Company and supported by the National Apprenticeship Service and the Greater Manchester Chamber of Commerce made the initial aim of finding 50 apprenticeship placements within the city’s creative sector across.

Through the programme, apprentices will be given on the job skills training while working for a marketing agency or department, with employers paying at least £5,000 a year for the service.

Business supporting Creative Break, as part of an ongoing advisory panel include: Cuckoo Design, Fudge, Pets at Home, SSL International, MediaVest (Manchester), Planet Confidential and Tangerine PR.

Sue Price, regional director for Apprenticeships in North West, said: “This campaign has been a great success and incredibly supportive in helping apprentices across Greater Manchester develop a wealth of practical experience across a range of creative industries, it also highlights the range of sectors Apprenticeships are available in.”
