Wakefield First set to commission pilot website development

Wakefield First, the business development agency is set to create a pilot website as it aims to map business and industrial parks in the Yorkshire and Humber region.

The agency has issued an invitation only tender for the development of the site which forms part of the Remaking Competitive Places for 21st Century Businesses project, aiming to engage with local authorities, planners, developers, business park owners and individual businesses in the region.

The project will aim to stimulate a new era of economic growth for the regions Business Parks through the transference of good practice, growing capacity and sharing know-how with local authorities and other key stakeholders to help them maximise economic benefits and added value of the business park as a resource.

The project has a budget of £8,000 and therefore has no obligation to be processed through the SCMS tender system, falling under the £75,000 threshold, but is being done so in am attempt to generate a range of interest from suppliers.

The contract begins 16 July with deadline for applications set at 9 July, the procurement process for which will be handled by Wakefield Metropolitan District Council.
