Bullivant set to launch second paper in Birmingham
Another title is set to enter the newspaper war in Birmingham with the launch of The Birmingham Free Press.
The free-sheet will be launched on Friday by local newspaper entrepreneur Chris Bullivant, just two months after he launched The Birmingham Press to compete with Trinity Mirror title, The Birmingham Post.
The new weekly title will print around 60,000 copies to be distributed to homes in south east and south west Birmingham and will differ from its sister-title by not offering a business section and will be more focused on carrying advertising.
Ahead of the launch of The Birmingham Post in April, Trinity Mirror launched a spoiler free sheet, ‘The Birmingham Post Lite’ the day before The Birmingham Press was set to be unveiled.
