A campaign for Road Safety Scotland, the Scottish Government and ACPOS has begun with the aim of encouraging seatbelt use by drivers and passengers in Scotland.

The ‘Have You Clicked?’ campaign has been developed by Union Connect, with Stripe Communications working on the PR, to encourage drivers and passengers to wear a seatbelt.

Union Connect have established relationships with more than fifty partners across the country, including Kwik Fit, Tesco, BP, Arnold Clark, and a host of courier, taxi, distribution and van hire companies as well as private businesses and public sector organisations.

These partners have signed up to back the campaign to remind employees, consumers and the general public about the importance of wearing a seatbelt.

As part of the campaign, materials carrying the ‘Have You Clicked?’ branding such as stickers and posters will be displayed in and on vehicles, in workplaces, shops, buildings and other public spaces around the country.

A ‘Seatbelt Convincer’ has also been specially designed and was used at the campaign’s launch event to highlight the force at which drivers and passengers are propelled forward in a sudden stop.

Kyle Hardie, managing director of Union Connect, explained: “As part of the wider Road Safety Scotland remit, this campaign will play an important role in reducing the risk of death and serious injuries on Scotland’s roads.

“We are working with a large number of stakeholders to deliver key campaign messages to groups where non-compliance is more prevalent. The ‘Have You Clicked?’ partnership campaign will reach a massive proportion of Scotland’s professional drivers, as well as the wider population. The ultimate goal is to get all drivers and passengers to wear their seatbelt every time they get in a vehicle.”
