Marketing agency ICE has announced plans to open a new office in the North East as part of its continued expansion.

The Merseyside-based firm has already opened offices in London and the south west this year and has a total headcount of 50 staff nationwide.

Opening in Ashington, the new office will support the agency's client base in the area, which currently includes NHS North of Tyne, NHS Durham and Darlington, NHS Stockton-on-Tees and Middlesbrough PCT.

It will be helmed by Northumberland-based director Neil Foster, who has previously worked on social marketing projects across the north east.

Stuart Jackson (pictured), chief executive of ICE, said: "“I’m pleased to welcome yet another talented member to the team. Neil has worked on a number of social marketing and community engagement projects over a number of years, and is incredibly passionate about the region.

"It’s an exciting time and the company is continuing to gather momentum as we move towards 2010.”

Foster said he is particularly looking forward to "working with partners to explore the needs and priorities of different communities."

"I am delighted the company is making this commitment to the North East with the new office," he added.
