Glasgow based design company Randak has unveiled its new range of Mackintosh designs which have been produced to coincide with the Glasgow School of Art’s Centenary.

The ‘Tile’ designs are a range of five colourways based on Mackintosh’s unique tile motifs which he used throughout his work – from furniture to architectural detailing.

Randak is working closely with Johnsons of Elgin, a premier Scottish Cashmere manufacturer.

The ‘Mackintosh Tartan’ will be used for both clothing and luggage.

The range is branded ‘Toshie Mackintosh', which also features the key design motif with its nine square motif on a purple background.

To compliment the launch of the brand Randak have designed a ‘Mackintosh’ Motion Graphics Trail at www.toshiemackintosh.com where all Mackintosh’s key buildings can be seen. The site will go live soon.

The first products will be released through the Charles Rennie Mackintosh Society in Glasgow and Kelvingrove Museums and Art Galleries in December.

Said Charles Randak, one of the four ex-Glasgow School of Art graduates in the business: "It seemed timely to produce something that would hold its place internationally and be sought after by the discerning.

"Having researched the Mackintosh products currently available we were surprised to find that while there is a varied range of items on the shelves, from bookmarks to notepads and t-towels, it was difficult to find an item that could be described as a top quality, designed, fashion item.

"This helped us identify that the starting point for our products would be a range of Cashmere and Wool textiles with a jacquard design and an accompanying tartan which would compliment the main range consisting initially of a limited edition of scarves."
