Accommodation for students gets in a JAMpr
Online student digs finding service, Accommodationforstudents.com has appointed JAMpr to handle its UK public relations, targeting the student market.
The student accommodation search engine helps students across the UK find a place to live with a few simple clicks and brings tenants and landlords together quickly and conveniently.
Accommodationforstudents.com (AFS) is embarking on a nationwide campaign with JAMpr to boost its profile in the national, regional, student, landlord and building press, as well as within Manchester and business media. JAMpr will also target websites, digital and social media and create a buzz with some innovative PR initiatives.
Activity kicked off in Manchester last week when JAMpr teamed AFS with Pot Noodle, the student’s snack of choice, to hand out free rations to students struggling to cope whilst they await their money from the Student Loans Company (SLC). The initiative followed news that 109,000 students are still awaiting their money as the SLC manually processes heavily delayed loan payments.

AFS was founded in 2000 by Thompson, with the strap-line: ‘Designed by students, for students’, as he was a student himself when he created the company. Now, AFS boasts STA as its main sponsor and features ex-Big Brother housemate Craig Phillips as an ambassador.
