The new logo for the next series of Doctor Who has been unveiled by the BBC.
The logo will go live alongside a new title sequence next Spring for the on-screen debut of the 11th Doctor, Matt Smith.
Steven Moffat, lead writer and executive producer for Doctor Who, commented: "A new logo. The 11th logo for the 11th Doctor – those grand old words, Doctor Who, suddenly looking newer than ever. And, look at that, something really new – an insignia! DW in TARDIS form! Simple and beautiful, and most important of all, a completely irresistible doodle.”
He continued: "I apologise to school notebooks everywhere, because in 2010 that's what they're going to be wearing."

Quite a clever balance there. The previous era was completely fresh but Moffat has taken the classic and given it a new sheen. Tardis insignia is quite clever too. I can live with that. If the internet is slow today it'll be the Who fans discussing it's merits on forums. Things should be back up to normal speed tomorrow.

I really like the tardis insignia and it will look lovely on merchadise. Also the complete departure from the previous logo makes it really fresh.

Btw, Stephen is one of those words that should have been spelt Steven. Some you win, some you lose.
