Manchester-based design agency Music, teamed up with Manchester BMX Club, with the help of British Cycling to produce limited edition posters that were exhibited at London Design Festival, and sold with all profits going to charity.

Music was asked by international graphic design journal Grafik to get involved in the project earlier this year. The exhibition, which is called Olympik: a graphic celebration of London's 2012 Olympics, involved over 30 leading design agencies from across the world. Each were asked to design a poster celebrating a different Olympic event. Music were asked to design a poster about the sport BMX.

Craig Oldham of Music said: "Manchester has a strong link with cycling. With the new indoor BMX centre being built at Sport City we thought it would be great to see if we could involve some young riders from the local BMX club at Platt Fields in the making of the poster. We wanted each poster to be unique so we decided to create the design from the imprints left by BMX tyres. We spent an afternoon with Ellis, Valerie and Sabian (3 young members of Manchester BMX club based at Platt Fields), and their coach Sam Foakes (former World No.1 Flatland BMX Champion) riding bikes through inks and across paper. Generally getting very messy but having a lot of fun in the process."

Each unique poster is signed by Olympic 2010 BMX hopeful Shanaze Reade. All profits from the sale of the posters will go the British Paralympic Fund (www.paralympics.org.uk) and the charity Right To Play.

For more information on the making of the posters please watch the short film.
