Marmalade and jam manufacturer F Duerr and Son is to launch a new poster campaign to promote its associate with the City of Manchester with the launch of its new Marmalade.

The poster campaign for Manchester Marmalade, which features the strapline ‘The Toast of Manchester’, was devised by Stockport advertising agency Vision with the consumer and trade PR being handled by Democracy which has also been involved in regional sampling in-store and in hotels in the region.

The marmalade, which relaunched in June, is exclusive to Tesco and will see its poster campaign supplemented by online adverts.

The sampling campaign began in August with miniature samples handed out to over 10,000 shoppers at Tesco stores across the region.

The company has signed a deal with Tesco to supply 75 regional stores across Greater Manchester and the North West with their newly updated Manchester Marmalade.

Richard Duerr, sales and marketing director at F Duerr and Son, explained: “We’ve been making our marmalades, jams and preserves in Manchester for 128 years and we are proud of our ties to this great city.

“Over the years, many of the brands that were once synonymous with the region have either moved away or closed down – yet our city has always had our jams and marmalade to be proud of and this campaign has been developed to remind people of that.

“Profits from the sale of Manchester Marmalade will be donated to Forever Manchester to support their campaign to create a sustainable resource to help the community of Manchester for ever.
