WRG Creative Communications has appointed Cliff Zenker as technical director of the company’s live communications arm.

The role will see Zenker share his time across WRG’s offices in Manchester, High Wycombe and Doha.

Zenker brings a wealth of experience having directed high profile events across the globe including the Commonwealth Heads of Government meetings in Edinburgh, the summer concerts at Hyde Park and the 2009 G-20 Summit.

Cliff Zenker commented on his appointment: “My main responsibility at WRG will be to work closely with our internal teams and suppliers to ensure our clients have access to, and benefit from, the very latest thinking in technical knowledge, quality and capability.

“WRG has an impressive back-catalogue of superbly delivered events and I am dedicated to help drive this success into the future with enhanced technical proficiency.”

Barry Day, managing director, added: “Live Communications above many other industries does not stand still and technical advances mean a constant investment in technical capability is required if you wish to offer them most creative and effective solutions.

“I am delighted that, at a time when most companies are cutting back on this resource, we are in a position to invest in somebody as talented and respected as Cliff Zenker. His appointment is a logical progression for WRG Live Communications; the work we have delivered in the recent past undoubtedly means we are already one of the world’s leading live agencies and we will continue to build on our position through welcoming highly skilled members such as Cliff to our team.”

Cliff Zenker will work closely with the project teams in the planning and realisation of the live events and will have on-site responsibility for a number of major projects.
