Karen Perry has been named as the latest board director at through-the-line and live communications agency WRG Creative Communications.

Perry, who joins the board as deputy managing director, is also a shareholder in the company and has over 17 years industry experience in marketing strategy and through-the-line communication having worked on both the client and agency side.

WRG has offices in Manchester, High Wycombe and Doha and boasts clients that include Hewlett Packard, Orange, British Aerospace, Astra Zeneca and Manchester Airport Group.

Perry said: “Joining the board is confirmation that I am very much part of the long term future of the business and I look forward to playing an integral role in the development and growth of the business moving forward.

We have aggressive expansion plans over the next three years in the UK and abroad and with the business heading into another period of rapid development, I am excited about being able to help shape its success.”

Barry Day, managing director, added: “In challenging economic times for the country, every business needs to look at its core management team and ensure they have the best possible people leading it. Board membership is a fitting reward for the role Karen has played in helping to develop the offering at WRG and I know her influence will be of great benefit going forward.”

“With 80% of UK purchasing decisions made by women but with 83% of 'creatives' being men, we’re also happy to be able to even up the score a little and feel that Karen will add genuine impetus and insight to the team.”

Perry’s new role as board director gives her responsibility for the day to day running of the Manchester operation.
