Glasgow PR agency MMM has brought in former Weber Shandwick Glasgow chief Charlie Mann as the company’s first PR director while also picking up the account from City Building (Glasgow).

Mann left Weber Shandwick Glasgow in April which saw David Sawyer promoted to director at the agency.

He will now work alongside founding directors of MMM Lindsay McGarvie and John Morrison to grow a business which includes Keppie Design, Heriot Watt University and artist Andy Scott on its client list.

He also worked alongside Lithuanian businessman, Vladimir Romanov, as he gained ownership of Heart of Midlothian Football Club as well as having the occasional football commentating role on BBC Scotland.

“We are at an important stage in the growth of MMM and attracting someone who has extensive brand, crises management and corporate PR experience as well as a sponsorship exploitation background adds to our ability to deliver results for clients,” said McGarvie.

“Charlie’s appointment and the fact we will be working with City Building (Glasgow) as they further develop their business is great for us and despite some of the doom and gloom surrounding the sector at the moment, we are enjoying a decent run of results.”

Mann commented: “MMM’s reputation within the industry is excellent and they have been attracting the attention of some of the larger agencies in terms of being serious ‘players’ in terms of competition for some time now.

“I’m looking forward to working with Lindsay, John and the team to build the business in terms of both clients and staffing levels.”
