Employment and inclusion company Reed in Partnership has appointed New Media Corp to support it as it embarks on a b2b and stakeholder engagement campaign.

The agency has been tasked to assist Reed in Partnership across a range of its programmes, that operate across the UK, and which are specifically designed to tackle issues around employment, skills and training.

Arvind Salwan, director, New Media Corp commented: “Given the current climate, this is an important campaign for Scotland in terms of how it will support the economic recovery plans of various key organisations. Reed in Partnership recently welcomed the measures in the government’s new Welfare Reform Bill; this long-term scheme for the unemployed is being introduced against the backdrop of soaring unemployment - more people in the UK are now out of work than at any time since 1996. Employment, skills and training issues are a high priority for government and industry."

Salwan continued to explain that the agency would work closely with Reed in Partnership’s London team to help the company to build relationships with key stakeholders in Scotland and will help them to hold an important and timely debate on Work to Welfare reform.

He concluded: "The campaign will be underpinned by public affairs and tactical public relations activity, in direct response to the recent Office for National Statistics annual Social Trends survey, in which Glasgow was cited as being home to the most workless households in the UK, with 29% of households in the Glasgow City Council area with those of working age in unemployment.”
