A new web based marketing strategy for Bournville College is to be developed by Big Cat Group as it looks to interact with current and prospective students.

The online Social Media campaign for the collegelaunched at the beginning of the month and will aim to give students the opportunity to become part of the Bournville community as well as encourage them to chat, learn more about their courses and what life is really like at the college.

BigCat will use numerous applications such as Twitter, Facebook and MySpace to share information and course related material from around the web.

The current blog on the college’s recently re-vamped website will be updated regularly with news, achievements, events and course advice.

Anthony Tattum, marketing director at BigCat said: “It is fundamental that educational establishments see the value of social media and what it can achieve for them, we believe Bournville College will become a pioneer and a source of information for all to learn from on the web.’”

Alma Aganovic, marketing manager at Bournville College said: ‘We are pleased to be joining the online community through the use of social media; interacting with our students and the wider community is very important to us. An interactive platform has now been created which enables us to share information and help people engage in college life. We are keen to keep an open line of communication with students both current and prospective and were really impressed with Big Cat’s innovative approach to this new and exciting technology.”
