Exclusive Hype Machine contract for w00t!media

Music website The Hype Machine has appointed sales house w00t!media to exclusively handle its UK online advertising sales.

The Hype Machine was founded in 2005 and aggregates thousands of music blogs so visitors can listen to myriad songs in MP3 format through its website. It has over 1.6m unique visitors every month.

It previously worked with w00t!media in a non-exclusive arrangement, but following that initial brief it has now appointed the Manchester-based company as its exclusive representative.

“Bespoke advertising really helps campaigns rise above the rest," said Taylor McKnight, a partner in The Hype Machine. "Our users spend seven times the national average on music every month, so brands are placed in front of a highly responsive audience.”

Austen Kay of w00t!media added: "Users of the site are in an ideal position to respond and interact with well placed advertising. W00t!media will be bringing both music-related and other relevant brands on board.”

Previously w00t!media booked a Radio 1 Big Weekend takeover of the site, while other campaigns have included Adidas sponsorship and content from American Apparel.
