Randak has been commissioned to produce ‘unifying but individual statements’ for all of the Forestry Commission's Scottish regions.

Extensive countrywide photographic cataloguing and interviews was undertaken with staff across the Forestry Commission Scotland's 10 regions – from Fort Augustus to Galloway and the Borders.

The objective was to create a suite of ‘iconic vision documents’; portraits reflecting the colours of the landscape, the topography, wild life and predominant tree species and, most importantly, the part in each community played by each forest district – from commercial forestry to leisure trails and parks.

The agency created vertical colour palettes echoing the individual ‘signature’ of each forest area and aligning these to topographical portraits – creating a regional sense of place.

Said Charles Randak: ‘’We really did have to know where each and every photograph of each and every tree was taken to be sure that the individuality of the areas were entirely authentic. It was no hardship at all researching each of the areas as even we, who know our own 'backyard' fairly well, were astonished at the unique characteristics of the ‘undiscovered’ areas that the Forestry Commission are guardians of.’’
