The Manchester office of Euro RSCG Biss Lancaster is to handle PR for the Five Stars Scanner Appeal pro bono for the next 12 months.

The charity set itself a target of £1m to fund a replacement scanner for the the new Royal Manchester Children's Hospital which opens this month.

But it still needs to find £250,000 and Biss Lancaster has agreed to put together a PR plan for the final fundraising push.

Biss Lancaster's joint managing director Brian Beech said every account handler would be giving their time for free.

"We have supported Breast Cancer Care for the past five years as our chosen charity and will continue to do so, but when we were asked to help out a children's charity on our doorstep we all agreed we should do it."

More about the appeal can be found at www.fivestarappeal.co.uk.
