Following a competitive tender process, Scottish Qualifications Authority (SQA) has appointed the Union through the Scottish Government Framework to create a campaign which will promote the benefits of Higher National (HN) qualifications.

The campaign follows the SQA in conjunction with Scotland’s Colleges identifying a need to build awareness of HN qualifications among key youth audiences.

Ian McAteer, group chairman of The Union, commented: “Scotland’s heritage in education is well recognised. We have never worked with SQA before so this is a huge win for us. Youth audiences are notoriously difficult to reach, however together with SQA and Mediacom there are some innovative plans in place to meet this challenge. This win is one of several on the new roster, which demonstrates that our expertise in social marketing and the quality of our people are attractive to public sectors."

The campaign will run later this year with media planning and buying to be handled by MediaCom Scotland.

Meanwhile, Union Digital, the agency's digital arm has announced that it has formed a consortium with two other digital agencies - W00tonomy and Consica to work on digital projects for the Scottish Government Framework and private sector clients.
