The website for Chester Racecourse has been re-launched by Rippleffect as part of its digital marketing push to drive traffic and grow online revenue.

The aim of the newly revamped site is to be easy to use, while allowing ticket and accommodation bookings and also raise awareness of the events, facilities and hospitality packages at the venue.

A movie function has also been added to allow visitors to experience a day at Chest Races in advance of attending.

Utilising the latest web 2.0 technologies the site also has increased social media functionality to reach out to followers in its Facebook Group which will keep users up to date with the latest horseracing fixtures, ticket information and competitions. Visitors can also update the page with picture and video content from their Chester Racecourse experience.

Twitter will also be used to complement the Facebook page and followers are provided with instant ticket news, results and event information.

Robin March, marketing manager at Chester Race Company, said: “There have been a lot of developments at the race course since Rippleffect launched our last site in 2005, and more significantly there has been a switch in the way people use the web. With this in mind, our website has become our single most important marketing tool. There is an emphasis on turning clicks into online sales and using the web to get people through the turnstiles."
