Scottish free cultural magazine The Skinny has announced a growth of 40% in its print format and of 300% in its online presence in the last year.

According to the publication’s ABC results last month, The Skinny’s circulation had reached 32,487 while its web traffic had grown to 60,000 unique users a month.

The magazine can be found in Aberdeen, Dundee, Edinburgh, Glasgow, Stirling, St Andrews, and has just confirmed 20 new distribution points in the Highlands.

Sophie Kyle, publisher of The Skinny, commented:“Not only are our readership increases bringing in some of our biggest interviews yet – for example, our recent interview with Metallica has attracted thousands of readers from across the globe – but we have made a real difference with new business partnerships over the last year too. Big shout to our readers, we couldn’t be doing this without them.“

In 2008, The Skinny created effective media partnerships with a range of festivals in Scotland including Edinburgh International Film Festival, Glasgow Film Festival, Edinburgh International Book Festival, and this year RockNess.
