The Drum understands that Belhaven brewery has made its head of marketing, Gregor Mina, redundant.

It is thought that the company has made the move as a result of the current economic climate but at the time of writing no one from the company has returned The Drum’s calls or was available for comment.

It is thought that his responsibilities will be taken on by the remaining senior team.

Mina joined the company in December 07 after two years with Norwich Union and following a three year spell with the agency Brand Ambassadors, having worked his way through a number of roles before becoming the core business director.

He was tasked to work closely with Bill Hughes, managing director and Jim Young, sales director of Belhaven Drinks Division, and was made responsible for developing all brand strategy focusing on Belhaven Best.

In his time at the company he was involved in the three year sponsorship deal with Scottish Rugby and has worked with several Scottish media companies such as Stand, Feather Brooksbank, Spring LLP and The Bridge while at Belhaven.
