Having created a new advertising campaign for Spinal Research, Hayley Leaf, senior designer at Manchester based Clear Marketing has been inspired to help raise funds.

The agency approached the charity with the idea for the 3D poster which uses shoe laces to represent the shape of a spine to generate awareness of running and fund raising events being held on its behalf.

The campaign is being distributed in leisure centres and fitness stores across the UK, while another advert based on the design will run in athletics publications.
Having designed the campaign, Leaf now plans to run in several running events to raise money for Spinal Research.

Said Leaf: “When faced with a brief to create an advertisement for a grueling marathon event, most designers would happily create an ad but then run a mile if somebody asked them to don their running shoes and actually take part.

“But the aim of the ad is to literally get people to run for Spinal Research and help the charity to raise money to get paralysed people walking again, and it’s worked on me! I’ve already taken part in the Bupa Great North Run (13 miles) and raised £482 for Spinal Research, with more fund raising planned for this year.”
