As part of its sponsorship of the Scottish Rugby team, The Famous Grouse, distributed by Maxxium UK, has given its sampling marquee a makeover.

Retitled The Famous Grouse Stadium, the marquee will aim to give rugby fans the experience of entering into Murrayfield Stadium itself at the Scotland v Wales match on 8 February and against Ireland on 14 March.

As supporters walk through the tunnel at the marquee’s entrance, they will be greeted by clapping and cheering as if entering the stadium. Once inside, music from ceilidh band Kilter will play along with rousing rugby anthems and popular Scottish classics.

Adult fans will be also be able to try a complimentary serve of The Famous Grouse with free limited edition beanie hats being given to the first 1,500 fans through the doors. Every fan will also receive a leaflet guiding them to some of Edinburgh’s finest rugby bars.

The Black Grouse will also have a presence when Scotland play Italy on 28 February at a mobile sampling bar and promotional staff will distribute samples of ‘The Smoke and Coke’ (Black Grouse mixed with coke) en route to the stadium.

Lee Walker, Maxxium UK’s brand manager for The Famous Grouse, said: “This is the 18th year that The Famous Grouse has backed Scottish rugby. We are extremely proud of our association with the national rugby team and it’s one of the most iconic partnerships in sport. The new look Famous Grouse Stadium will continue to provide a unique experience and entertainment hub for rugby fans.”
