ASDA is to roll out new Valentine’s Day signage as it looks to help customers find the perfect gift for their loved one.

Created for the tenth consecutive year by Gratterpalm, this year’s Valentine’s promotion ‘Love is in the air’ will launch this week and continue for the next three weeks.

This will be the beginning of a series of events connects by a related visual theme featuring Easter, Mother’s Day and Father’s Day promotions.

The Leeds based agency has created a complete in-store campaign with a ‘fun, modern and versatile’ creative using floating hearts rising up to one big heart, filled with lots of smaller hearts.

The campaign uses the strapline: ‘Love is in the air’. The ‘spirit of romance’ will be visible from the gondola ends to guide customers in their search for romantic gifts for their perfect partner.

The design will also appear on all in-store activities including competitions and on leaflets. gratterpalm’s heart design has also been applied to packaging and key elements of the design will carry through to Mother’s Day, Easter and Father’s Day campaigns.

Gareth Healey, managing director at Gratterpalm, explained: “Valentine’s Day has grown in importance and is a real highlight early in the year. As the first seasonal campaign of 2009, it’s a real opportunity to brighten people’s spirits post Christmas, get them excited and in the mood for love. For many people, ASDA has become the destination of choice to get the perfect present for their loved one and we are giving the whole experience a romantic feel.”
