MDA:Creative is searching for a new creative director following the voluntary redundancy taken by Alan Price.

Price has left MDA:Creative after nearly four years in a move which surprised the agency, which offered its staff the opportunity to leave as it looked to streamline the business.

Les Kerr, managing director of MDA, who only joined the agency in July to allow chairwoman Anne Maley the chance to take a step back, said that he felt that Price had taken the opportunity as he might have been looking to return to more traditional advertising creative work.

He also said that a few other less senior personnel had also departed, but highlighted that the agency was continuing to recruit in other roles.

Kerr said that the agency hoped to bring in someone with similar skills to Price.

"It ended up that he left more through mutual consent but, none the less, we do need to replace him now but it's a difficult role to fill.

"We are looking for a strong headed marketing creative with a strong head for numbers as well because there is a lot of scheduling to be managed on the creative department side of things as well. We'd also like someone who can interface with customers and naturally be hands on as well in producing work and briefs themselves and really get involved," explained Kerr.
