Following the news that Jonathan Rigby is to launch his own company TwoDays – as reported first online by The Drum – he has explained why he's doing it.

The Drum understands that TwoDays has been developed with his current employer, Love's help.

Rigby has posted a blog as to his intentions when TwoDays launches in October following the completion of his gardening leave from Love.

Said Rigby; “There are lots of very experienced and talented people around who could add real value to creative agencies and marketing departments but who don’t want to work for one company 100% of the time. Most of them are too expensive to hire full time anyway, so we thought, why not make it possible to hire these people as a plug-in to your business by the hour or by the day?”

He continued; “Rather than wasting your money with boring theory nonsense spouted by consultancies from stuff they’ve gleaned from text books, we provide sharp, intensive, prolific - but most of all, useful stuff for people who hire us.

“Things like a new business plan or an incisive piece of research thinking or intensive help on a pitch you really want to win or ideation sessions for NPD or advice on how to grow your agency or rapid training sessions on the latest tends in Web 2.0 or a stand-in for the marketing director or help finding a new agency.”

Alistair Sim, managing director of Love commented on the move; "Jon's spent three successful years working for Love and we thought it was high time he become his own boss. TwoDays is currently being developed as a vehicle for his considerable talent and is due for a formal launch in October, when Jon's contract with Love finishes. Jon has our full support in this new venture and we wish him well.

Further information on this and other initiatives will be released in due course."
