Glenmorangie marketer joins whisky rival

Graeme Lindsay, director of marketing at Glemorangie, is to join Whyte and Mackay as its marketing director.

Lindsay will join the rival whisky company in order to head up its marketing team on 10 December.

A spokesperson for Whyte and Mackay, who confirmed the appointment of Lindsay in the newly created role, also said: “The role has been created to help continue to build our business on a Global stage.”

Lindsay said: “Whyte and Mackay has a unique and distinctive portfolio of well-loved brands with significant growth potential especially in surging economies like India and China. I am looking forward to developing this portoflio during what will be a very exciting time for the Company.”

The Scottish whisky brand was recently bought by Indian drinks magnate Vijay Mallya’s company United Spirits for £595m.

No one at Glenmornagie was available for comment.
