Propaganda has already drawn up a shortlist to fill the role of creative director, following the surprise departure of incumbent, Stuart Anderson, who left the role “by mutual consent” just as The Drum went to press.

Anderson was appointed only five months ago from The Union Advertising in Edinburgh to work jointly with creative director John Dean. Whilst Propaganda would not specify the reasons behind Anderson’s sudden exit, managing director Mike Phillipson said: “He’s just moved on. He didn’t want to work here; it’s mutual. People come and leave in advertising. These things happen.

“Some people enjoy working at Propaganda, some people don’t. Some people fit, some

people don’t.”

Although a replacement candidate has not been named, Phillipson said that it was likely the successful candidate would be drawn from among those the company have been looking at during Anderson’s tenure.

“There is a big list of people who are potentially going to be replacing him, and I’m sure we’ll be able to announce that in the very near future,” Phillipson told The Drum.

“In this business people come and go. We’ve been speaking with senior creative people over the last six months and there are a number of people who want to come and work here.”
