Attik acquired by Japanese group

Attik, the UK- and US-based design agency, has been acquired by Japanese headquartered advertising group Dentsu.

The group’s New York-based consolidated subsidiary, Dentsu Holdings USA, Inc. has acquired 100 per cent of the outstanding shares for both the San Francisco and Leeds offices of Attik. A statement released by the group said the aim of the acquisition was to help strengthen the its operations in the US and Europe by “further enhancing client services and bolstering growth potential”.

Attik was founded in Huddersfield in 1986 by Simon Needham and James Sommerville. Now headquartered in Leeds, it now has offices stateside in San Francisco, Los Angeles and New York. The agency has 58 staff working across its three US offices and 10 working in Leeds.

Ric Peralta and William Travis, formerly the chief executive and president of Attik US, have become president and vice-president of Attik Division, Dentsu America.
