Former Connectpoint advertising MD John Kelsey, who headed up the advertising team at the Manchester-based agency, has left the company.

The Drum broke the news online last week that Kelsey had left the agency without warning, and the circumstances of his departure could not be confirmed. Neither Kelsey, nor Connectpoint\'s group chief executive, Nick Bradshaw, could be reached for comment at that time

However, Bradshaw has now told The Drum that Kelsey may have left to go in a new direction entirely. It is rumoured he may have retired from the media industry.

“He has a completely brand new set of plans that he wants to follow as far as I am aware,” Bradshaw said.

Bradshaw also confirmed that Kelsey was not dismissed from the agency, and in fact left the organisation by mutual consent.

“It is a completely amicable agreement,” Bradshaw said.

Kelsey could not be reached for comment at the time of going to press.
