A new research and communications agency has been launched by the Scottish Labour Party’s former head of communications.

Red Circle Communications, based in Edinburgh has been launched by Steven Lawther, who spent the last six years providing polling and communication advice to the Labour Party.

He worked closely with the former Scottish First Minister and the UK Cabinet in election campaigns, also spending time at a US polling agency during the 2004 USA Presidential elections.

Lawther said of the launch: “The research and communications field in Scotland is a competitive one but it is one in which I think Red Circle can thrive.”

Lawther continued: “Research should be about providing a clear, practical way forward for clients not just writing a report that gathers dust on a shelf.”
